+ powerlifting questions answered

Today’s newsletter might look a little different from previous weeks. That’s because today is Prime Day. It’s that special time of the summer when Amazon marks down a bunch of stuff, so everybody else does the same. We’ll also answer some lifting questions and ask for your feedback.

Prime Day Deals for Powerlifters

Here are a few of the top finds for Prime Day. As always, if you choose to buy through one of our links, we’ll make a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks for your support!

Note that the prices change pretty quickly on Prime Day, and we’re only checking prices in the USA.

You need to be a Prime member to get some of these deals, but they offer a 30-day free trial for new members.

These adjustable dumbbells have a range of 5-50 pounds per hand. They’re sold in pairs, and they have 4.7 out of 5 stars from reviewers. Best yet, we spotted them at 35% off during Prime Day.

These are some lower-priced powerlifting accessories, but we trust the brand and like the discount. We saw a 20% discount for Prime members today.

This is listed in our guide to the best all-in-one home gyms. And (at least for the moment) we’re seeing a lightning deal on it.

It’s always nice to see deals on big brands like Apple. We spotted an iPad for under $300, too. That’s among the best prices we’ve seen, and it makes reading powerlifitng guides or taking an on-demand video course (like these by Avi Silverberg).

These are my go-to headphones for the gym. They’re sweat-resistant, sure, but they’re also bone-conduction headphones. That means I can still hear everything around me while my music (or podcasts) plays inside my head.

Do you want more Prime deals tomorrow?

It's the final day of the sale, and we may send more if we spot something good.

What’s the Best Deadlift Bar?

A deadlift bar has a thinner diameter than a standard barbell and typically has more aggressive knurling, which makes it easier to hold onto the bar.

Deadlift bars also have a longer shaft than standard barbells. The bar is longer, as well as the thinner diameter, makes it so that the bar will flex more when being lifted.

The extra flex will allow you to get into a better position before the weight leaves the ground and also shortens the lift's range of motion. All of these factors should lead to you being able to deadlift more weight.

So what kind of deadlift bar do you need? Read our full guide to see the best of the best.
