An overhead press cue is a short phrase that keeps your form tight and your movement efficient. One example is “stack your arms,” which helps you keep your joints aligned. Another is “head through the window,” which sets you in the right position to finish strong at lockout. These reminders remove guesswork from the lift and help you move heavier weight safely.

Some cues focus on setup, such as gripping the bar firmly or keeping your ribs down. Others improve stability during the press, like squeezing your glutes. Certain cues are about finishing the lift, including pressing back, locking the elbows and shoulders together, and controlling the descent.
