Yes, Powerlifters Should Do Strongman Training

We asked Coach Lucero for his thoughts on strongman training.

The main takeaway: Do it.

There are several benefits, but the main thing is the overlapping muscle groups. Strongman competitions include different types of lifts, but training for those will help with the big three for powerlifting.

As always, we read all the feedback you send in. Please let us know what you’d like to see in next week’s newsletter.

The Best Strongman Programs for Powerlifters

All resistance training will strengthen you if you are pushing yourself and your program is well thought out.

Strongman can provide even more increases in strength compared to more traditional weight training.

Strongman incorporates many unconventional lifts, which can accelerate progress, especially when incorporating them for the first time. For example, pulling a bus uses compound and functional movements with a heavy load.

You’re working your lower and upper body all in one.

With that in mind, you’ll need the right program to do strongman training.

Juggernaut AI Review

Reviewing the Juggernaut AI app has been the biggest project we’ve taken on in terms of reviewing training programs.

I’ll be honest – I’m trying really hard to find things I don’t like, but this app is absolute fire. From the time I started using it, to writing this article after using it for six weeks, I can’t say enough good things.

Adam Gardner

Our coaches had to use the app for several weeks of programming in order to understand how the algorithms worked, how the app adjusted their training, and how their training state (recovery/fatigue) was impacted as a result.

After reviewing JuggernautAI and publishing this article, the creators of the app reached out with a 10% off code for our audience. Receiving this code did not impact our independent review of the product.

If you want to redeem this code, you can use TECHNIQUE10 when purchasing JuggernautAI. The discount will apply every month that you're subscribed.
